Last evening I had to give a short piece on 'Crap' Art at the Liverpool Academy of Art in Seel St. - I had prepared a piece on that ancient and beautiful word - first heard during the Crusades and I had a short history of its progress via Germany and France to its arrival on our own fair shores. The Tudor thunder box featured large in my intended performance. There was only one problem - I wrote it on a loo roll and when I unwound the said roll, the felt tipped writing had some how got damp and had smudged. So my history of Thomas Crapper got flushed away. Sorry everyone to spoil your evening! but do go and see the weird and extraordinary exibits at the Academy.
